Samuel Goldwyn
1882- 1974
American Movie Producer

| As a 13-year-old immigrant from Poland, Samuel Goldwyn could not have known what an impact he would have on American culture. One of Hollywood's great producers, he co-founded the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, although he eventually left MGM to run an independent company.
Among the movies he produced were Wuthering Heights (1939), The Little Foxes (1941), The Best Years of Our Lives (1946) and Guys and Dolls (1955). Goldwyn was also a generous philanthropist. |
