Marchese Marconi 1874- 1937 Inventor
He traveled to England in 1896 and spent five years trying to overcome skepticism about whether there could be any practical use to his equipment. In 1900, his Wireless Telegraphic and Signal Co. Ltd. became Marconi's Wireless Telegraphy Co. Ltd. Marconi's company established radio stations on land and at sea, and Marconi eventually received the Nobel Prize for physics (1909). He also held a dizzying array of important patents pertinent to radio telegraphy.
