A Prince of Our Disorder : The Life of T. E. Lawrence
by John E. MacK |
T.E. Lawrence 1888- 1935 British Soldier
Together with the Howaitat tribe, he crushed the Turkish force in Ma'an and captured Aqaba in 1917. After the Arabs occupied Damascus in 1918, a peace conference was convened but Lawrence was unable to achieve his desired goal of an entirely favorable settlement for the Arabs because, he believed, the major powers were disinterested. As an author, his most renowned work was The Seven Pillars of Wisdom, published in 1926. His death in 1935 resulted from a motorbike accident.
