Henry Kissinger 1923- American Politician Born in Germany, distinguished statesman Dr. Henry Kissinger escaped with his family after the rise of the Nazis. He attended Harvard, receiving a PhD in International Relations. In 1968 he became an advisor to the Nixon campaign. After Nixon was elected he became the National Security Advisor. During this time he took control of US foreign policy, and was named Secretary of State in 1973, a position he held until the end of the Ford Administration.
